'Our lineage was not born in monasteries or universities. In the premodern era, the yogic masters of the Ear-Whispered Lineage practiced in the wilderness of the Tibetan Plateau, confronting existential mysteries head-on to discover the path to liberation for all beings.
They were wanderers and contemplatives, fully immersed in the world. Rather than escaping life’s challenges, they embraced them as teachers. Gathering in hermitages or remote places, these practitioners cultivated and transmitted sacred knowledge—whispered directly from teacher to student.' - quoted from the proposal written by Alimma and Khandro-la
This year, our CHO MONLAM was honored to welcome Dr. Jan Willis, one of the most esteemed scholars, yoginis, and authors in the field of Ear-Whispered Lineage masters' life stories. Her talk, based on her groundbreaking work, Enlightened Beings: Life Stories from the Ganden Oral Tradition, was inspiring and reaffirming—encouraging us to trust in and recommit to the path of the Ear-Whispered masters.
All Dakinis, may you guide us as we navigate this unbroken river of blessings, carrying us all the way to awakening, just as you did for the masters of the past!
With prayers,
Khandro-la
